Welcome to Geo Join

Geo Join is a collaborative project to slice location resources into similar objects based on referenced similarities and then provide object orientated location aware meta data to be used to separate, expand, differentiate, or join these objects for any location based service output purposes.

Geo Join's goal is to bring, or join locations and people in the Geocaching community and eventually other inter-operated location based projects.

We are currently working to provide a communications platform for organizations and projects in the Geocaching community. Our aim is to create a portal into which those involved within these Geocaching organizations to be given the access to hold conferences and group meetings allowing participants to watch in real time yet allowing only those that represent the communication topic to have the ability to have voice, in conjunction allowing the public to follow and comment using a variety of secondary communication tools. A forum topic will be provided for each event in the chat room name-space for the organization and its event date and time for public discussion. These systems are to be mostly automated with the exception of authorization and confirmation of the groups validity and access control to the communications resources.

After completion of the 0.0.1 milestones, we will begin our primary development phase with the process of collecting data for similarity analysis. We will ask Geocaching groups from many topic-spectrum's to donate Geocaching related data from multiple geographic locations and from a multitude of Internet presence types. These sources may include, though absolutely not limited to, Geocaching related forums, mailing lists, external-from Geocaching.com: Geocache finds, hides, and locations; Geocache cluster radius information in relation to the data geographic locations source, and the Geocacher's Nickname for one of many possible primary keys, for an example. This information is a small segment of a multitude of alternative, separated, expanded and (or) related data collection possibilities. After enough data is collected across a pre-determined geographical distance, we will begin initial analysis to find similarities across the Geocaching organizations with Geocaching related attributes, and their geographic location relationships.
