Welcome to Geo Join

Geo Join is a collaborative project to slice location resources into similar objects based on referenced similarities and then provide object orientated location aware meta data to be used to separate, expand, differentiate, or join these objects for any location based service output purposes.

Geo Join's goal is to bring, or join locations and people in the Geocaching community and eventually other inter-operated location based projects.

We are currently working to provide a communications platform for organizations and projects in the Geocaching community. Our aim is to create a portal into which those involved within these Geocaching organizations to be given the access to hold conferences and group meetings allowing participants to watch in real time yet allowing only those that represent the communication topic to have the ability to have voice, in conjunction allowing the public to follow and comment using a variety of secondary communication tools. A forum topic will be provided for each event in the chat room name-space for the organization and its event date and time for public discussion. These systems are to be mostly automated with the exception of authorization and confirmation of the groups validity and access control to the communications resources.

We aim to provide other user based communication systems that may help in the development and interest towards this project and Geocaching. See similarity analysis.

Get Involved

Anyone with basic to advanced knowledge in information and software systems, or those with a background in communications are welcome to participate in this project. Contribution of any size is appreciated, even if that involves only submitting tickets for ideas and feedback. Please note that projects may often take years to get started. However, if you believe in creating a community of people interested in Geocaching and location based systems and communications, then let's get the ball rolling!
